Mark Fox, 71, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Mark was born in Washington, Indiana on June 14, 1950 to the late Herman and Evelyn Fox. Mark married his high school sweetheart Kathy (Edwards) Fox on July 11, 1970. Mark worked for the telephone company for nearly 40 years. After retiring, he went back to work for Electricom where he was presently employed. Mark was known for his hard work ethic and generosity, always giving to friends and family without expecting anything in return. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and gardening. He was also a sports enthusiast who loved watching IU basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He faithfully attended the activities of his children and grandchildren. Above all, he was a dedicated family man.
Mark is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 51 years; daughters Keri (Dave) Barrett, Kristi (Shawn) McGillem, and Jacy (Justin) Boyd; grandchildren Tanner (Abbi) Brooks, Sydney Brooks, Emily McGillem, Shelby Fox, Ava Fox, Bellami Boyd, and Bentley Boyd.
He was preceded in death by son, Ryan Wesley Fox, parents, mother-in-law, Elsie Edwards, and sister, Jan.
To honor Mark’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Outdoor Adventure Foundation, give.usoaf.org, or a charity of your choice.
