State set to appeal ruling on expanded unemployment benefits

holcomb-5

Don’t celebrate–or condemn–the end of federal pandemic unemployment benefits in Indiana, yet.
The Holcomb administration has filed an expected notice of an intent to appeal.
A Marion County Superior Court Judge reinstated the 300-dollar per week payments–citing a state law making the state responsible for securing all rights and benefits incurred under certain Federal statutes.
The judge’s order is temporary, pending resolution of the challenge filed by five unemployed Hoosiers.
