The Indiana Department of transportation has announced a bridge project on U.S. 50 near Shoals.
Beginning this week, contractors will close one lane of the U.S. 50 bridge spanning the East Fork White River between Capital Avenue and High Street.
This project is for a bridge deck overlay.
Workers will mill the top layer of driving surface, repair approaches, and replace with new material.
During the project, one 12-foot lane of traffic will be open at all times.
Loads wider that 12-feet should seek and alternate route.
Work is scheduled to be completed in early July, depending upon weather conditions.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
