Addison Ainscough had 26 points as the Barr Reeve Lady Vikings opened the 1A Girls basketball sectional with a win over Washington Catholic 59-29 in Loogootee.  Next up for Barr Reeve is a semi final game with Orleans on Friday.

Loogootee also moved on eliminating Shoals in game two 67-34.  The Lions go to 15-4 and will face North Daviess on Friday.
Washington had a solid win in game one at Vincennes last night in the 3A Sectional 57-36.  Kencia Lavaseur finished with a double-double 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Washington will now play Pike Central on Friday.  The other semi-final Friday has Vincennes taking on Princeton.
In 2A at North Knox, Top ranked Linton opened with a big win over Mitchell 54-28.  The Lady Miners go to 21-1 with a match-up against Vincennes Rivet on Friday.  Tonight at North Knox play continues as North Knox faces Paoli at 6pm, and South Knox will meet Eastern Greene in game two.
Illinois held Indiana to three points in overtime and the 12th ranked Fighting Illini defeated the Hoosiers 75-71 Tuesday night in Bloomington. The first field goal in the overtime session came on a Kofi Cockburn (CO-burn) dunk with 19.9 seconds left that put Illinois up four. IU scored just two field goals in the final 11 minutes of action, as the Hoosiers dropped to 9-8 overall and have lost three straight at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. IU was led by Trayce Jackson-Davis, who had 19 points and 14 rebounds. The Hoosiers had not played in nine days, and return to action Sunday at home against number eight Iowa.
Purdue struggled late and fell 61-60 at Maryland. The 24th ranked Boilermakers controlled much of the second half, but Maryland’s Eric Ayala gave the Terrapins the lead with two free throws with 3.3 seconds to go after he was fouled on an offensive rebound. Maryland rallied to score the last six points of the game and drop the Boilermakers to 12-7 overall. Purdue was led by Trevion Williams, who scored 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Purdue hosts Northwestern on Saturday.
Notre Dame opened the second half with a 16-0 run and cruised to a 79-58 win over Wake Forest Tuesday night at home.
Butler’s comeback fell just short as the Bulldogs missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer and lost 70-67 at Marquette.

The Indiana Pacers bounced back with a 134-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Domantas Sabonis tied a career-high with 32 points to go with 13 rebounds and five assists and Indiana had a season-high in points. Memphis had won seven in a row, while the Pacers were losers of two straight, including a collapse down the stretch Sunday against Philadelphia. Indiana is 12-9, and goes on the road Wednesday night against Milwaukee in a battle for the Central Division lead.
