Over the last decade, Family Video has stood as the last of the major video rental store chains in the U.S. The company informed it’s remaining 300 stores this week that they will have to sell off their inventory and close for good by late February. Washington’s Family Video closed last year, but the Vincennes store remained open. Some store managers have said their business has been down 50-percent since reopening from pandemic shutdowns with no signs of bouncing back. District manager Kristin Drisko told WIBC a contributing factor to their financial hardship was a lack of a big name movies from Hollywood.
