Two arrested on drug charges in Gibson County

Last night around 10:40pm, Indiana State Police conducted a traffic stop after a Chevy Trailblazer was caught speeding. The trooper approached the vehicle and detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was identified as 49-year-old Larry Morris. The passenger was identified as 29-year-old Sarah Ellingson. Both are from Evansville. While officers searched the vehicle, they found a handgun, a baggie containing suspected meth, a baggie containing a white residue, and drug paraphernalia. Morris and Ellingson were arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail where they are currently being held on bond. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the arrest.
