Charles Clyde Brown

Charles Clyde Brown, 89, of Loogootee, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.
He was born April 18, 1931 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Simon Clyde and Irene Eva (Mauder) Brown.
Clyde married Barbara Jean Emmons on June 1st, 1952 in Loogootee and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2006.
He was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a 50 plus year member of the Loogootee American Legion Post 120.
Clyde was a member of the Truelove Methodist Church and served on the church board. He retired from USG after 38 years of employment. He loved spending time with his family, cutting wood, mowing, and farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Brown; parents, Simon C. and Irene E. Brown; sisters, Vernelta Lingenfelter, Wilma Collins and Minnie L. Brown; brothers, Edward C. Brown and infant twins; daughter-in-law, Darlene Brown.
Clyde is survived by his children, Diana (John) Fegan of Loogootee, Charles C. Brown of Washington, Becky (Rick) Bauer, Peggy (Gerry) Mattingly and Clifford (Vicki) Brown, all of Loogootee; 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Ziegler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Truelove Methodist Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Social distancing and masks are required by all in attendance.
