Betty J. Thompson, 91 of Washington, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 26, 2020.
Betty was born on June 16, 1929 in Flora, IL to the late Ausby Reaville Cannon and Mary Opal (Hensen) Cannon.
Betty was a member of the Free Methodist Church, the Garden Club, and was a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a 1946 graduate of Garter-Stanford Township High School in Flora, IL. and spent her younger years as a telephone operator in Flora and in retail at both J C. Penneys and Montgomery Ward in Washington. Her later years were spent as a homemaker; as she enjoyed time with her family more than anything. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Betty is survived by; a son Greg Thompson (Kimberly); grandchildren, Audrey Chestnut, Corey Thompson; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Callie, and Cami Chestnut; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Raine.
Betty was preceded in death by; her parents; husband of 68 years, Stanford Thompson; and a son, Jeffery Thompson.
