Jimmie Lee Buchanan, 101, of Vincennes, passed away at 9:45 am Friday, November 20, 2020 at Lodge of the Wabash.
She was born April 28, 1919 in Hopkinsville, Indiana to Joe and Willie May Tyler.
Jimmie worked as a cook at Head start for over 50 years, was a member of the Second Baptist Church, and served as Secretary of Mt. Olive Baptist State Convention. Jimmie loved to cook, fishing, and watching sports.
Surviving are her husband Joe Michael Buchanan of Evansville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews Paul Martin and his wife Tina, Eric Martin, Elder Kenneth Morris and his wife Bertnetta Ann, Rev. Kenneth W. Morris and his wide Charlotte, Richard Morris Jr. Herb Morris, Mary Hopkins, Stella Richmond, and Grace Morris.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Jesse Buchanan; and her sisters Beulah Norwood and Candace Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Second Baptist Church with Pastor William Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until the service time at the church. Goodwin-Sievers, Gardner-Brockman Chapel is honored to serve the family of Jimmie Lee Buchanan.
