Both were accepted by the commissioners. He also talked abut the 900E Project and asked the commissioners to sign an agreement to relocate the water and sewer lines. The agreement was signed.
Kathy Sullender from the Heath Department was also at yesterday’s meeting and requested the commissioners sign the 2021 service agreement for the Baby & Me Program, a program designed to help pregnant mothers quit smoking. Kathy described the program as being very successful. The service agreement was signed by the commissioners.
Daviess County Treasurer Elaine Wellman also presented at yesterdays meeting. She asked the commissioners for new laptops for the Treasures office through the use of Cares Act Funding. She said they currently only have two which means that only two people from the office could do work remotely. The commissioners approved the laptop request.
Wellman also asked the commissioners review the idea of adding a Kiosk to the building that would allow tax payers to pay their taxes via this machine. She told the commissioners that through the pandemic, she has seen a need for such a machine. The machine would act as a teller and would also provide receipts for tax payers upon payment. The commissioners agreed to review the information and to discuss the matter further at a later time.
In other business a 12 month At&t contract was approved for the Daviess County Security Center, and a resolution to acquire the 309 E Hefron Street property was approved. In addition, the commissioners also approved the 3rd draw of Cares Act Money to several small businesses. The cares act money grants each business $5,000 in relief funds.
The annex was a concluding discussion. Commissioner Micheal Taylor made some positive comments about the annex and stated the County Offices would be closed for moving on October 21, 22, and 23rd.
