Carolyn May Mathis, 70 of Washington, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 21, 2020.
Carolyn was born on February 27, 1950 in Washington, IN to the late Charles P. Mathis and Virginia E. Ross Mathis.
Carolyn was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School and was a resident of Washington all of her life. She enjoyed collecting dolls, teddy bears, and she enjoyed the company of her cat Heidi, who misses her terribly. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, was a former member of Church On the Way, and loved all animals.
Carolyn is survived by; her loving son, Philip Stephen Wagler (Anna); grandchildren, Coltyn Rainey Sr, Elizabeth Wagler, Liam Wagler, Franklin Wagler, Lyle Wagler, and Levi Smith; great-grandchildren, Colton Rainey Jr, and Isabella Rainey; siblings, Clyde “Bud” Mathis, George “Dale” Mathis, Charles “Tom” Mathis, Frank “Francis” Ray Mathis, Esther May Mathis Jones, Marilyn Faye Mathis Street, Fred Lee Mathis, Joseph “Mark” Mathis, and Judith Kay Wininger; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by; two sons, Steven“Porky” Ray Rainey, and Scotty Dale Rainey; siblings, infant sister, Elizabeth Jane Mathis, Ginny Lou Mathis, and Robert Gene “Bob” Mathis.
The family of Carolyn Mathis will be receiving friends and family on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with a service immediately following, all held at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E.
