Washington Jr. High 8th graders will have the opportunity to earn some high school credits.   WJHS Principal Mark Arnold reviewed changes in the Junior High School’s course offerings and told the School Board on Thursday that WJHS students would now have the opportunity to earn high school credits by taking Gateway classes.  Gateway is the junior high version of the High School’s Project Lead the Way program and will give junior high students an opportunity to begin learning basic career skills through the Bio-Med segment of Project Lead the Way.     Arnold said the one-semester career skills classes would be paired with one-semester health classes for all students.   However, Schools Superintendent  Dr. Dan Roach told the Board that the WHS/WJHS complex is now short a classroom to meet necessary space needs.
