Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Hart

Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Hart, 61, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family and beloved caregivers.
She was born on January 10, 1959, in Jasper, Indiana, the 3rd child of John and Barbara (Alberti) Hart.
Betty attended and graduated from the Rosemary Kennedy School in Washington, IN.  She was a lifelong employee of the Red Door Industries in Loogootee, IN, which she took great pride in and enjoyed very much.  Betty Lou enjoyed listening to music, doing puzzles, dancing and watching her favorite videos and movies.  She loved playing cards and doing word searches.  She was a sweet kind personality who exuded joy and happiness and always had a smile for everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty is survived by her brothers and sisters: John Pat (Debbie) Hart Jr., Janice (Dennis) Hensley, Gary (Pam) Hart, Carolyn (Joe) Craney, Laura (Greg) Symanski, Mary Lynn (Tony) Walker, Charles (Beverly) Sinclair and one aunt, Norma VanLue. She also had many nieces, nephews and cousins who cherished and adored her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Sudhakar Bhastati at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Montgomery. Funeral services will also be live streamed on St. Peter’s Catholic Church Facebook page for those who cannot attend in person. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Betty and the family were truly blessed to have three amazing caregivers – Beverly Wagler, Jennifer Graber and Martha Knepp who cared for her like she was family.  We want to also thank the Heart to Heart Hospice and her primary physician, Dr. Martha Yearsley and her staff for the excellent care Betty received.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Developmental Service Industry of Martin County, formerly Red Door of Martin County.
