Modified 4H show to be held next month

4h-9

The Daviess County 4H Show is set for July 16th to the 24th in a modified format.
Officials report that after numerous discussions; Purdue Extension and the Daviess County 4H Board have agreed on a plan to move forward with a show. They say they will take all necessary steps to provide safety of 4Hers, their families, volunteers and the community.  The steps are based on Purdue University and Indiana 4H requirements for PPE, social distancing and facility disinfection due to COVID-19.
Some of the modifications to the show include continuing to show livestock and animals in open events at the 4H grounds; however, there will be limited seating in the livestock arena and social distancing will be followed.  No livestock will be on the grounds overnight.  Livestock will arrive, be shown, and leave the same day.
All static/exhibit building projects will be submitted virtually for judging. A slide show will be shown the Exhibit Building on a Continuous loop for the projects. A dedicated showing will be held for grandparents or those considered high risk for COVID.  Days and times for that will be announced later.
Livestreaming and recording of the activities and shows will be available with links available on the 4H website.
