After reviewing a rate study for water sewer works in Loogootee, financial consultants Baker-Tilley have proposed rate increases of 15 to 49%. The Washington Times Herald reports the rate study was based on the costs for 8 sewage and 5 water projects which officials say are essential for Loogootee’s future. The Loogootee City Council meets June 8th to discuss the matter. They are reportedly going to talk about cutting the costs of the planned projects in an effort to lower the utility rate hike proposal.
