Due to COVID-19 concerns, Water World of Washington won’t open this summer. In discussing the decision at Monday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Dave Rhoads said the state health department issued several stipulations that would have to be met before the facility could open. The mayor talked it over with the local health department and the city’s park and rec department and decided the health and safety of Washington residents was most important. The city council agreed and voted not to open the pool and splash park this year.
