Martin County meth arrest

The Martin County Sheriff’s Department released details of an arrest made Wednesday night.
They report that Corporal Tyler Reed was on patrol in Loogootee and saw a motorist who he knew was a suspended driver.  The driver then committed a moving violation.  The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver took a long time to pull over.  The officer then requested assistance.
Reed asked if the driver, identified as 53-year-old Michael D. Clements of Wheatland, if he had any weapons. Clements said he had knives.  He was ordered to get out and the officer started a pat down search and noticed a meth smoking device in a pocket. Clements then tried to resist the officer he was taken down.  It took an extended time to subdue Clements.
A search of the car turned up 45 grams of meth, a digital scale and two handguns.  On Clement’s person a total of two smoking devices and more meth was found.
Clements is charged with Dealing Meth, Possessing Meth and Paraphernalia, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Driving While Suspended.
