Washington’s newly elected Mayor and City Council got down to business with special Council and Board of Public Works meetings Monday night. Mayor Rhoads explains the reason for the meetings….
Named to the city plan commission by the council was City Councilman David Dahl. He replaces outgoing member Blake Chambers. The Board of Public Works reappointed Tom Stephens to the commission.
The new Council re-elected Councilman Alan Brown to serve as the Council President. To complete his administration, Mayor Rhoads appointed Councilman Dahl and former Utility Department head Anita Ash to serve on the Board of Public Works and Safety.
Other appointments, newly elected council member Randy Emmons was named to the Downtown Design Review Committee; Rick Powers and Tom Tucker were reappointed to the Redevelopment Commission; Anita Ash was reappointed to the County Economic Development Commission; and Mayor Dave Rhoads will serve as the City’s representative on the Southern Indiana Development Commission Board.
The Council and Board of Works will hold their first regular meetings next Monday, January 13.
