Richard J. (Dick) Walker

Richard J. (Dick) Walker, 91, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

He born was on May 21, 1923 to the later Peter L. Walker and Mary (Larkin) Walker.
Dick served as a pilot in the Army Air Corp in WWII, Korea, and retired from the Air Force Reserve. He retired from US Gypsum in 1984.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School and attended Butler University. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus, the North American Bluebird Society and the American Legion. He had traveled extensively through North and Central America.
Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rose Elizabeth (Liz) Walker; son, Michael Walker of Key West, FL; daughters, Kathleen Walker of Loogootee, IN, Barbara (Dan) Gregory of Loogootee, IN, Karen (Scott) Fellwock of Goodlettsville, TN, Eileen Dawson of Morroco, IN and Clara (Ben) Northington of Ellicott City, MD; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul (Dutch) Walker, Helen Fuller, Mildred McGovern, Leonard Walker and Elbert Walker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, officiated by Very Reverend J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant Reverend Leo Kissel. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
