A routine traffic stop in Putnam County led to the discovery of a large amount of methamphetamine over the weekend. Indiana State Police say a trooper conducted a DOT inspection on a semi along I-70 Saturday afternoon when suspicious indicators prompted a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers found approximately 100 pounds of methamphetamine in the trailer, along with a handgun in the cab. The driver, 33-year-old Kemar Brown of California, was taken into custody without incident and is facing felony charges, including dealing and possession of methamphetamine. Authorities estimate the drugs have a street value of around $500,000.
