Construction is moving forward on a major workforce housing project in Loogootee. The Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth announced that framing has begun on the Oak Street Village development, which will bring 50 new apartment units to the community. The project will also include a childcare facility, community amenities, and supportive services aimed at helping working individuals and families achieve long-term stability. Local leaders say the development addresses the growing need for quality housing. In addition to Oak Street Village, new single-family homes are also being built on Poplar Street and SE 1st Street in Loogootee.
