Weather Station Project Earns Teaching Innovator Grant for Washington Teacher

Our Community Foundation has announced the recipients of the second-semester Teaching Innovator Grants. Washington Community Schools received a $250 grant to support Math in the Weather: Hands-On Data and Analysis for Young Scientists.  Washington Upper Elementary Teacher, Quintin Myers, accepted the award and was named a Teaching Innovator. This project will install a remote monitoring weather station in the classroom, providing students with real-time access to temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, and indoor/outdoor humidity.
