After 75 years, the Daviess County Fair has officially ended operations. Fair officials say the decision was made due to ongoing challenges, including a significant shortage of volunteers and declining community support, which made it no longer sustainable to continue hosting the fair. Organizers also cited increasing difficulty securing carnival operators. The fair’s board thanked the many volunteers, sponsors, and families who supported the event over the decades. Remaining funds held by the organization will be donated to local groups and charities.
