As New Year’s Eve approaches, Indiana officials are urging drivers to make safe choices to help keep roads safe during the holiday celebrations. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead by arranging a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi before going out. Drivers are also reminded to stay sober behind the wheel, buckle up, and remain alert for others who may be impaired. Suspected drunk drivers should be reported by calling 911. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles says extra officers will be on patrol as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, aimed at preventing impaired driving and ensuring a safe start to 2026.
