Pike County’s Animal Welfare Shelter is asking for community help after high winds caused significant damage to its outdoor kennels. Shelter officials say the storm damage has created an urgent need to move animals into safe environments. The shelter is now seeking emergency fosters and adopters to help care for dogs and other animals while repairs are made. Anyone who is able to foster or adopt is encouraged to contact the Pike Animal Welfare Shelter as soon as possible to help ensure the animals’ safety and comfort.
