A prayer vigil is scheduled for January 3, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Springs Valley PE Complex in French Lick in support of Orange County Deputy Zac Andry, who was shot in the line of duty one year ago. Community members are invited to gather in prayer for Andry, his family, and all those impacted by the incident. Deputy Andry was injured while stopping to assist a driver believed to be having car trouble. The driver, later identified as Austin Schepers, shot Andry multiple times before fleeing and was later killed in a shootout with Louisville police. Organizers say the vigil is meant to show support, gratitude, and encouragement for Deputy Andry and his family as they continue to recover from the events surrounding the shooting.
