The City of Loogootee has issued a no-parking order for Sunday, December 7, from Highway 231 East to Church Street and down to St. John’s parking lot to prepare for the community’s Christmas festivities and parade. SE 1st Street from Church Street to the railroad tracks will remain closed through the New Year to ensure parade safety.
Loogootee’s Christmas celebrations include:
Christmas Stroll: Sunday, Dec. 7, 2–6 p.m.
Kids’ Christmas Scavenger Hunt: Dec. 7, 2–6 p.m.
Pick up scavenger hunt lists at The Igloo or the American Legion (top floor via back ramp).
Participants (Pre-K through 12th grade) can submit entries by 6 p.m. at The Igloo for a chance to win a grand prize.
Christmas Parade: Starts at 6 p.m. Sunday in Loogootee. Residents can find more details on the Loogootee Beautification Board Facebook page. The city thanks everyone for their cooperation in creating a safe and festive celebration.
