
Kerry D. Teverbaugh, also known as Kerry Dean, 76, of Monroe City, Indiana passed away December 3, 2025. He was born in Monroe City, Indiana on August 9, 1949, to Betty Burton and was raised by Nile and Helen Teverbaugh. He graduated from South Knox High School in 1968 and continued his education obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Metrology. After graduation he went to work for Channel 2 News in Terre Haute and worked there for many years as the Chief Meteorologist.
In his free time, he enjoyed humanitarian work and helping his community. Kerry helped start the Blue Jean Center in Monroe City in 1999. He also helped with the creation of the Fall Festival in Monroe City and the Jerry Lewis Telethon raising awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Kerry also enjoyed all things astronomy, and you could even say he had his head up in the clouds. He will be deeply missed.
Kerry is preceded in death by his birth mother Betty Burton; parents Nile and Helen Teverbaugh; siblings Larry and Kristi Teverbaugh; and cousin Greg Leech.
He is survived by his son Alejandro Martinez Ramirez; sister Diana Westfall; cousins Jerry (Georgianna) Coonrod, Rick Leech and Cindy Leech.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2 – 4 pm in the Monroe City Blue Jean Center.
