Daviess Community Hospital has announced a more than $1.6 million annual wage investment to boost recruitment, retention, and access to care across its service area. The largest adjustment raises the inpatient registered nurse pay scale by over 30%, increasing hourly wages from $33 to $45. Hospital officials say additional wage increases have been implemented across multiple departments to remain competitive as DCH enters a planned growth phase over the next two years. DCH employs more than 400 staff members across its 48-bed hospital and 14 clinic locations. Harris said the wage initiative is part of a broader plan focused on expanding women’s health, general surgery and GI, urology, musculoskeletal care, and primary and specialty services. Beginning in 2026, DCH will shift to performance-based evaluations with compensation incentives. The hospital also plans to transition to the Epic electronic health record next year, which leaders say will improve efficiency for clinicians and give patients easier access to their health information.
