Purdue@WestGate will hold its next First Tuesday event on December 2 from 4–6 p.m. at WestGate Academy, featuring an update on the planned Radiation Combined Effects (RCE) facility. The RCE facility—being developed by NSWC Crane, Amentum, and other partners—aims to fill critical testing gaps by providing advanced simulations of nuclear effects on military equipment, a capability needed as underground nuclear testing is no longer performed. The project will support radiation-hardened microelectronics design, testing, and evaluation. Speakers from Amentum and NSWC Crane will outline the facility’s mission and collaborative development efforts.
