RTC Communications has been preliminarily awarded more than $3 million through the federal BEAD Program to expand high-speed fiber broadband in unserved and underserved areas of Daviess and Martin counties. RTC will contribute another $3.1 million in matching funds, bringing the total project investment to nearly $6.2 million and connecting close to 1,300 homes and businesses. The award is part of Indiana’s provisional BEAD funding and awaits final approval from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. RTC was one of 29 providers selected statewide. Construction is expected to begin in 2026. The project will deliver fiber-to-the-premises technology with speeds up to 5 gigabits per second and continues RTC’s long-standing investment in rural connectivity.
