Daviess County residents affected by this summer’s flooding have until Thursday, October 9, to apply for assistance through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s State Disaster Relief Fund. The fund was created following the June 30 floods to help uninsured or underinsured homeowners cover damage costs, with eligible applicants able to receive up to $2,000 for immediate recovery needs. State officials say payments are already being distributed to approved applicants, but no new applications will be accepted after Thursday’s deadline.
