The Daviess County Museum will host its annual membership drive on Thursday, October 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 212 E. Main St. in downtown Washington. This year’s event, titled “Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness,” will highlight the upcoming 250th anniversary of America’s founding. Guests can explore new exhibits focused on independence, the Revolutionary War, and early America, while enjoying live period music from roaming entertainers. Admission is free and open to the public, with no membership required. Museum Director Becky Kremp said the event showcases the importance of member and volunteer support in preserving local history and providing educational programs. The celebration is part of the museum’s ongoing participation in the America 250 commemoration, which began earlier this year with a lecture series on Indiana’s territorial history. Future events are being planned in partnership with community organizations. More information about the museum and membership opportunities is available at daviesscountyhistory.com.
