
At the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 13, Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb recognized 95 Indiana farm families with the prestigious Hoosier Homestead Award, celebrating more than a century of family ownership and dedication to agriculture. To qualify, farms must be family-owned for over 100 years and meet acreage or production requirements. Honors include the Centennial Award (100 years), Sesquicentennial Award (150 years), and Bicentennial Award (200 years). Since 1976, more than 6,200 farms have earned the designation.

Dubois County – Hochgesang family (1905, Centennial), Neukam family (1913, Centennial), Verkamp family (1871, Centennial & Sesquicentennial)
Pike County – Meyer family (1895, Centennial)
