Galen Ray Stoll, 69, of Montgomery, Indiana passed away on Friday June 20, 2025, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 30, 1955, in Washington, Indiana to Roy W. and RoseAnn (Miller) Stoll. He graduated from Barr- Reeve High School in 1974.

Ray and his wife Libby were together for 14 years before he finally married on September 14, 2024. She was the love of his life.

Ray worked at P.R Bean and Company in Washington, Indiana for the last 30 years. He was a skilled craftsman and true perfectionist; Ray took pride in every detail of his work. Earlier in life he worked at several coal mines, showing a strong work ethic from a young age.

Ray liked sports, especially softball, and he coached several teams. He was a big fan of racing and liked to watch NASCAR and car #3. Whether it was cars or go-karts, he loved the thrill of the track.

Most knew him as “Grumpy Ray” but his looks were deceiving as he truly had the biggest heart and more than anything, Ray loved spending time with his family and friends. His warmth, laughter, love for the Lord, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by, his father, Roy W. Stoll, and his sister- in- law, Marsha Stoll,

Ray is survived by his mother, RoseAnn Stoll, his wife, Libby Mae Stoll, his children, Dave Stoll, Casey Stoll, Jordan (Sabrina) Stoll, step-children, Brandi Strange, Derek Strange, Colton Smith, grandchildren, Macee Miller, Amya Stoll, step-grandchildren, Hunter Strange, Aron Huchel, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings, Jim Stoll, Ken (Ann) Stoll, Arlene (Paul) Bean, Sue (Pat) Ash, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday June 24, 2025, at 10:00 A.M at Providence Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at Providence Mennonite Church and again on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M at Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Miller Raceway in honor of Ray Stoll.
