The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that U.S. 231 will be closed near West Boggs Lake beginning Monday, April 10.
INDOT says that work crews will close US 231 near the entrance of West Boggs Park on Monday for an emergency pipe replacement. During the closure, crews will remove and replace a pipe under the roadway. Once completed the roadway will re-open to traffic. Work is expected to take a day to complete, depending on the weather.
The official detour for this project is State Road 58 to I-69 to US 50. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has also announced lane restrictions for State Road 64 near Huntingburg beginning Monday. INDOT says crews will begin working on an HMA overlay project on State Road 64 between Huntingburg and Bretzville. This project will include patching, milling and paving of the roadway. During work, a flagger will be utilized to direct traffic through the work zone. Work is expected to last through mid-May, depending on the weather. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
