Dolores (Dee) Sutton, 81, of Loogootee, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Loogootee Nursing Center.
She was born October 5, 1933 in Ferdinand, IN to the late Henry and Josephine (Bartley) Helming.
Dolores was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee. She was a member of the Loogootee Ecumenical Choir and participated in the annual chili fundraiser.
She loved to cook, especially for her family. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, word puzzles, spoiling her grandchildren and loved her sweet tea.
She owned Belles and Beaus for 15 years in Jasper. It was her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden (Cuddy) Sutton; grandson, Michael Neukam; parents, Henry and Josephine (Bartley) Helming; brother, Leroy Helming; step-son, Danny Sutton and brother-in-law, Ron Cheney.
Dolores is survived by daughters, Debbe (Marvin) Osborne of Loogootee, Jacquie (Mike) Catt of Vincennes, Brenda (Jerry) Edwards and Falicia (Tony) Hollaway, both of Loogootee; step-daughter, Donna (Billy) Haynes of Philpot, KY; step-son, Robert Sutton of Loogootee; grandchildren, Kerry (Zack) Raymer, Ian Martin, Carl (Barbie) Catt, Kena (Nick) Vieck, James (Jessica) Edwards, Natalee Edwards, Sarah (Kreigh) Knepp, Whitney Edwards, Breanna and Becca Hollaway; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert (Margie) Helming of Jasper and Donnie (Carol) Helming of Indianapolis; sisters, Dorothy Cheney of Carrollton, GA and Judy (Tom) Schmitt of Ireland, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in South Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home and Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
