A December 15 trial has been set for a Vincennes man charged with murder and Level 4 felony arson following a fatal house fire. Shane Carie, 37, remains jailed without bond after Thursday’s initial hearing in Knox Superior Court One. The charges stem from the September 21 fire on North 11th Street that led to the death of 18-year-old Aileese Tucker. Judge Gara Lee appointed defense attorney Brian Smith and moved the trial from January to December at his request. Carie is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
