January 2 at Riverview Health Arena in Noblesville

4:00 p.m. – Lawrence North vs. Fort Wayne Snider

The day’s second contest could be considered the small school state championship, as both teams are expected to be at the very top of their respective classes in 2026-27. Barr-Reeve and Westview combined for a 55-3 record last year and both teams made the state finals. Barr-Reeve won the 1A title and Westview fell in the 2A final 57-56. Barr-Reeve has all five starters returning from last year’s title team.

Westview has a strong basketball tradition and represents a community that shares many of the same values as Barr-Reeve. This is a matchup that both fan bases have looked forward to, and we expect an outstanding atmosphere,” Barr-Reeve coach Heath Howington said. “We are grateful for the opportunity and are excited to be part of what should be a great day for Indiana high school basketball.”
Westview, a winner of four consecutive sectional titles, returns five of its top six players from a year ago. That includes Indiana Junior All-Star Austin Schlabach and a host of skilled shooters from a team that shot 42% from 3-point range last year.

NFL rosters are set following Sunday’s cutdown deadline.
Among the biggest names released was former Titans quarterback Will Levis, who cleared waivers and is now a free agent. The Seahawks cut cornerback Trevon Diggs just two weeks after signing him, but brought him back on the practice squad.
Meanwhile, future Hall of Fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement, returning to the Rams on a one-year, $20 million deal.
Packers running back Josh Jacobs and Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper were placed on the commissioner’s exempt list while the NFL investigates domestic violence allegations.

Both Presidents Cup teams are now set. U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker and International Team captain Geoff Ogilvy made their six selections to round out their respective 12-man teams for this fall’s Presidents Cup on Tuesday afternoon.
