A house fire early this morning brought Washington firefighters and police to a home on Northwest 11th Street behind the West end fire station. Dispatch records say heavy smoke and flames were showing from the rear side of the single-family home when crews arrived shortly after midnight. Firefighters entered the building and worked to bring the fire under control, while utility crews later disconnected power. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was contacted. A witness reported seeing a man dressed in black in the area. The investigation remains ongoing.
