The Daviess County YMCA is moving forward with plans for a new, state-of-the-art community facility designed to serve residents of all ages. The proposed roughly $32 million project would replace the YMCA’s aging facility and include features such as an indoor walking track, redesigned pool, two gyms, a ninja course, fitness studios, a teaching kitchen and expanded space for youth programs and community activities. YMCA leaders say more than $10.8 million has already been raised from individuals and businesses, along with additional commitments from local government. An anonymous donor has also pledged a $1 million matching gift. The goal is to break ground as early as next summer.
