Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating after a vehicle and body was discovered submerged in a retention pond behind the Boonville Walmart in Warrick County. Authorities identified the victim as 67-year-old Joseph Lucia Jr. of Evansville, who had been reported missing on July 7. Investigators located the vehicle after phone data indicated Lucia’s last known location was near the pond. A drone operated by the Warrick County Sheriff’s Department detected the vehicle, and divers confirmed it was submerged before it was removed by a towing company. Officials say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, but foul play is not suspected. Multiple local emergency agencies assisted at the scene.
