The Southwest Indiana Development Council has completed a regional business attraction assessment. The study was conducted in partnership with Ginovus, a national site selection and economic development consulting firm. Officials say the assessment reviewed how communities respond to business inquiries and site selection requests, while identifying ways to improve competitiveness and attract new employers. The report covers SWIDC’s 10-county region, which includes Daviess, Dubois, Knox, Martin, Pike and several surrounding counties. SWIDC leaders say member communities have already begun implementing recommendations from the study, including updated business development practices and improvements to regional marketing efforts. The goal is to help grow the regional economy, attract new investment and support future job creation throughout southwest Indiana.
