IHSAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 
1A
Senior Korben Boyd came off the bench to score 11 of the Vikings’ final 18 points in a 50-37 victory over Triton in the Class 1A state championship game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The score was tied at 30-30 until the Vikings took what would be the lead for good on a steal near mid-court and layup by sophomore guard Jaylon Graber with 1:35 remaining in the third quarter. Sophomore Josh Miller led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points followed by Boyd and fellow sophomore Jaylon Graber with 11 points.  Junior Kierson Lengacher had 6, sophomore Braxton Neidigh had 5 and Junior Carson Yoder chipped in 4.  The Vikings finish their season at 28 wins versus 1 loss.  To go with his big day on the court, Korben Boyd was also awarded the Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award for class 1A.
Also for Barr-Reeve Mark Holt was awarded the IHSAA’s Champion of Education Award. Holt has been teaching at Barr-Reeve for 43 years.
2A
Parke Heritage and Westview combined for a near-record breaking 18 3-pointers made inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse. But it was Westview winning their first ever state title 57-56. Parke Heritage set a new 2A state record for highest field goal percentage (.590) and junior guard Brenden Goins (5-for-5 from 3-point) had the highest 3-point percentage for an individual.
3A
For three-and-a-half quarters, the 3A state championship was truly any team’s race with six ties overall and 11 lead changes between both contenders until Indianapolis Cathedral put together a 13-4 run in the final 3:47and the Irish defeated New Haven  71- 61.
4A
Crown Point never trailed during the opening half, jumping to a 21-10 advantage by the 5:17 mark of the second stanza but the 2nd half was a different story and Mt Vernon Fortville wins a close won 52-50.
NCAA TOURNEY
The Final Four is set for Saturday’s semi final at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. At 6:09 Illinois and Connecticut will square off and then at 8:49 it will be what promises to be the matchup of they year as number 1 seeds Michigan and Arizona take the court.

NASCAR
Chase Elliott’s gamble pays off, when he 2 stopped the the final stage, and he goes on to win at Martinsville.  Elliott scored his first NASCAR Cup Series win of the season and the first for a Hendrick Motorsports driver in 2026.
