A Barr-Reeve educator has been recognized with a statewide honor from the IHSAA. Mark Holt of Barr-Reeve Middle/High School was named a 2026 Champion of Education Award winner during the Class 1A boys basketball state finals. Holt was honored alongside Joel Grindle of Triton Jr./Sr. High School for their commitment to education-based athletics and creating positive environments for students. Holt, a mathematics teacher with 43 years of service, was recognized for his dedication to students and his role in mentoring fellow educators.
