Pike County Man Sentenced in Drug Case

petersburg-police-2

A Pike County man has been sentenced to prison following a drug investigation in Petersburg. Roger D. McCord, 60, of Stendal, was sentenced to 12 years in the Indiana Department of Correction after pleading guilty to dealing in a controlled substance. The charge was enhanced due to a prior conviction, along with a habitual offender enhancement. Additional charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The case stems from a 2025 traffic stop during which officers discovered drug paraphernalia, leading to further investigation and evidence at McCord’s residence. Authorities say McCord admitted to distributing a synthetic drug known as a-PHP. Officials cited McCord’s criminal history and prior violations as factors in the sentence. The investigation was led by the Petersburg Police Department.
