A registered sex offender was taken into custody Thursday morning at Oakland City Primary School. Authorities say School Resource Officer Huber alerted law enforcement after 47-year-old Branden Willis of Somerville entered the school’s office area around 10:47 a.m. School staff and the officer remained with Willis until additional officers arrived. Willis was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center. He is charged with unlawful entry of school property by a serious sexual offender, a Level 6 felony. Officials say no injuries were reported, and the investigation involved multiple local law enforcement agencies.
