Washington Police responded to a reported vehicle theft Wednesday afternoon at a gas station on National Highway.
According to dispatch logs, a Ford Focus was reported stolen around 2:00 p.m. and was last seen traveling on National Highway.
Within approximately 5 minutes, a Washington Police Department School Resource Officer located a vehicle matching the description on Apraw Road.
Officers quickly located the vehicle near 300 North and 200 West and detained a male suspect.
The vehicle was later recovered and returned to its owner.
The driver was identified as 39 year old Justin Ashworth of Olney, Illinois.
