dnr-9

A Missouri man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Vanderburgh County. Authorities say an Indiana Conservation Officer stopped a vehicle traveling more than 90 miles per hour near U.S. 41 and Interstate 64 on February 27. During the stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana and found the driver, Naithan Murphy, 30, of St. Louis, did not have a valid license. A search of the vehicle uncovered more than 300 pills of methamphetamine, along with marijuana, digital scales, and a loaded handgun. Murphy was arrested and charged with dealing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and reckless driving, and was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. Police also say the vehicle had been linked to a prior fleeing incident in St. Louis. Indiana State Police assisted at the scene.
