The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith have announced that 12 organizations across the state have received new Indiana Main Street designations for 2026. Among them, Discover Downtown Washington has been recognized as an Indiana Accredited Main Street program. The designation highlights communities that meet national Main Street standards focused on downtown development, economic growth, and community engagement. Officials say the recognition provides participating communities with training, networking opportunities, and resources through the Indiana Main Street and Main Street America programs to help strengthen local downtowns.
